Servant Shepherds and a People After the Heart of David
This study through the lies of 4 kings is dedicated to those whose hearts
long for the presence of the King, hearts totally abandoned and love sick to
see Jesus.
4 Kings, Only One Heart
Saul, David, Absalom and Solomon. Kings to king wanna be's. 3 were anointed and
full of the Holy Spirit. Absalom thought he was, yet never could be king. I've
studied through the lives of these great leaders for several months and the
lessons never end. Gods laid a foundation leading to the Cross of Jesus Christ
and His reign on earth a removing of the veil to the heart of the Father.
Religion is the veil, Mercy and sacrifice tear it down exposing the heart of
God.
Israel demanded a King! Never before had such rejection come from the heart of
Israel. They no longer wanted the Father to lead them. Samuel was displeased at
the elders decision. He bore the weight of this terrible wrong. God told Samuel,
Listen to the voice of the people…”they have note rejected you, but they have
rejected me from being King over them.” 1 Samuel 8:7 (NASB) They must be like
the other nations led by man. God instructed Samuel of what their King
would expect of Israel, that they would cry out in anguish. He will not answer
in that day. Then God gave them Saul.
In 7 days he lost the kingdom. Blatant Disobedience: God gave Saul 32 years to
repent. Saul destroyed His relationship with the Father. He was a madman, threw
spears, consulted a witch and in the end fell on his own sword. Long live King
Saul! His life shown Rebellion, Anger, Suicide & disgrace. Did you know
Rebellion carries through Blood line and Kings?
Saul was born to a worthy family, his father “a mighty man of valor”. Saul was
superior in external ways and none as handsome in all of Israel. None as tall
either. We find him right off out chasing his fathers lost donkeys. Amazing what
God uses to lead us down His path. His friend Zuph said …”there is a man of God
in this city….lets go there…he can tell us…”1 Samuel 9:6 NASB Samuel already
knew…
1 Samuel 9:17
“When Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said to him, "Behold, the man of whom I spoke to
you! This one shall rule over My people."” NASB
How could Samuel miss the tallest one in Israel? God made sure Samuel knew
Him. "Behold, the man of whom I spoke to you! This one shall rule over My
people.” The word of God rings true. Israel desire is now a reality. Be careful
what you ask for, you might get King Saul. One of whom all external manners,
choice in the eyes of the Nation. Israel set to sin and idolatry. Why do people
seem to fall under Gods Blessing? Could it be a matter of the heart?
