Servant Shepherds and a People After the Heart of David
Introduction: a King; Into the Heart of God
Jeremiah tells us that in the last days God will raise up
new Shepherds with the heart of David:
(Jer. 3:14-15)
Jer 3:14 'Return, O faithless sons,'
declares the LORD; 'For I am a master to you, And I will take you one from a
city and two from a family, And I will bring you to Zion.'
Jer 3:15
"Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on
knowledge and understanding.
14 “Voltem filhos rebeldes! Pois
Eu o Senhor de voces. Declara o
SENHOR. “Tomarei voces, um de
cada cidade e dois de cada cla, e os
trarei de volta a Siao.
15 Entao eu lhes darei
governantes conforme a minha vontade, que
os dirigirao com sabedoria e com entendimento.
My friends regardless of your end times theology, most
here will agree, we are in the last days before Jesus returns to the earth to
take His throne. Jeremiah declares in these last days there will be two types of
leaders; Faithless sons, those who are Pharisees of the heart of King Saul.
Also those who are warriors of mercy as King
David, will rise as Shepherds after the heart of God in the end times. They will
act as Servant Shepherds who will feed the people on the mercies of our heavenly
Fathers Heart. These shepherds will know and understand the word of God and
teach or feed the people under Holy Spirits power and revelation through Jesus
Christ.
Beware my friends how you look at what covers
the heart: Beware of Pharisees and follow the true Warriors of Jesus Christ.
1 Samuel 16:7
…7 "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of
his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees,
for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
12
So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, with beautiful eyes and
a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he."
13
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his
brothers; and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon David from that day
forward. And Samuel arose and went to Ramah.
14 Now the
Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD
terrorized him.
7
O SENHOR, contudo, disse a Samuel: “Não
13
Saul
failed to obey God and lost the kingdom in just 7 days. He disobeyed God at
Gilgal when the Philistine armies came in like a flood and the people scattered
in fear. Saul refused to wait on Samuel and from a heart of fear took on the
identity of the priest to give the sacrifice. Saul
did not hold holy what God considered holy. God searched the world and found a
shepherd boy in the wilderness with worship in his heart. When Samuel came to
anoint Gods new king, Jesse brought out 7 of his finest sons. Each dignified in
stature, yet one by one God rejected them. They did not have a heart after God.
Man looks at the face or outward appearance with just a glance. God knows our
heart with deep understanding. He sees and understands our attitude and motives
behind every action. God rejected all of David’s Brothers. None of them walked
in Gods heart. When Samuel asked Jesse if there was anymore, Jesse said, oh
yah…there is the one tending the sheep. He’s right over there.
Jesse called in David…”Yes” says God, it is the
shepherd boy who is my king! Samuel anointed little David right in front of the
entire family. The Holy Spirit came on him powerfully all of his days. At that
moment, the spirit of the Lord left King Saul. An evil spirit terrorized Saul
the rest of his days. Saul reigned 32 years. For over 20 years he chased David
trying to Kill Him, all the while molding David’s heart to be Gods chosen King.
1
Samuel 19:8-13
1 Sam 19:8 When there was war again, David went out
and fought with the Philistines and defeated them with great slaughter, so that
they fled before him.
1 Sam 19:9 Now there was an evil spirit
from the LORD on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand,
and David was playing {the harp} with {his} hand.
1 Sam 19:10 Saul tried to pin David to the wall with
the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, so that he stuck the
spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.
1 Sam 19:11
Then Saul sent messengers to David's house to watch him, in order to put
him to death in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, told him, saying, "If you
do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be put to death."
1 Sam 19:12 So Michal let David down
through a window, and he went out and fled and escaped.
8 E houve guerra
derrota, e eles fugiram dele.
Young David fought the enemies of God with great victory. He
used arrows, swords and a great fighting spirit. He had no desire to be King and
fought hard to protect Israel.
His heart sought after knowing God and showing mercy to Gods children.
King Saul abused the people. He hurled spears
at those he loved, even his own son Jonathan. In his anger he would not allow
his people to eat in battle to keep up their energy. Its amazing how this
leaders fear permeated the whole of Israel’s army and
society. Saul demanded to be king. He
demanded allegiance. His disobedience and manipulations planted the seeds of
witchcraft in his heart. In his end he consulted the witch of Endor because Gods
word was silent. The Philistines came upon him and the enemy arrows took him
down in battle. Out of fear and cowardly heart, Saul fell on his sword
committing suicide. Such is the end of a man after the peoples own heart.
Do you know people who desire to be king? They
throw spears and look with suspicion on shepherd boys. God uses both. Those who
throw spears sharpen and hone Gods Shepherds. Gods Shepherds feed the sheep,
show them mercy, protect them and extends compassion to the wounded. Which one
are you? God knows who you are. He sees our human hearts.
David and
Jesus Heart
Mathew 9:12-13
Matt 9:11 When the Pharisees saw {this,} they said to
His disciples, "Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?"
(Farmers of Taxes)
Matt 9:12 But when Jesus heard {this,} He said, "{It
is} not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.
Matt 9:13 "But go and learn what this
means: 'I DESIRE (Mercy)COMPASSION, AND NOT SACRIFICE,' for I did not come to
call the righteous, but sinners."
vocês come com publicanos e ‘pecadores’?”
It
is Gods job to judge the human heart. It is ours to show Jesus love, mercy and
grace: We must lift the veil of religion and let them see Gods presence. The
effects of peoples sin is enough punishment upon their life. We who trust in
Jesus Christ, are Jesus hands and feet, we are Gods presence in the middle of
their crisis. The Pharisees, organized religion they complained that Jesus ate
with tax gatherers and sinners! Pharisees today come and say, You cant come in
here, you’re a sinner. We don’t allow sinners in our church. Jesus
ways: Jesus desire-yelw Jesus resolve,
determination and purpose is that we hear, understand and practice His kind of
mercy.
Eleov.
It is
not
just a saying, Jesus
commands us to give kindness and good will towards the miserable and the
afflicted.
We are to
join in His work with a deep desire to
help people through their crisis. We must
exercise Jesus virtue of mercy. God the father shows his great love and
mercy to all humanity in that while we were yet sinners, Jesus, Gods only son
died for us! God offers salvation through Jesus. We as believers must show His
great mercy to others. Jesus told a story of a good Samaritan in luke chapter
10…. A man is robbed and left for dead as he lay close to the road side. A
preist walks by, then a levite: Both pious religious leaders. They walk to the
other side of the road. Can you imagine what they were thinking? “Oh I don’t
want to get involved. Oh he has such bad wounds, I cant deal with that. Oh he
smells terrible. Oh this might cost me something… The Samaritan, known as the
dogs of the earth, he took care of the mans wounds, put him on his donkey, took
him to an inn, paid for it and came back latter to pay the rest of the bill to
get him healed. This my friends is
Jesus Mercy and Compassion.
Jesus does not want us to act according to Law
and Sacrifice:
yusian To Sacrifice is to kill the Victim, to shoot our wounded,
to throw them out of the church… Jesus wants restoration. Jesus wants healing.
Jesus wants us to show His love no matter what they’ve done. He wants us to live
as He lived. He wants us to give out His grace to others.
Don’t get me wrong here, My friends the law is
important! It has a function: It brings us to the knowledge of our sin. We must
as his children, show mercy and compassion on all people.
